Municipal Judge

The Richmond Heights Municipal Code states that:

The Council shall appoint an officer who shall have the title of Municipal Judge and who shall serve at the pleasure of the Council.  The person appointed to such position must have the following qualifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Missouri.
  • Not otherwise an officer or employee of the City.

The Municipal Judge shall have such powers and duties as are conferred upon such officers by laws of the State of Missouri and may issue search warrants as authorized by ordinance to the extent permitted by laws of the State of Missouri.

Provisional Judge

The Mayor shall appoint a person to the position of Provisional Muncipal Judge who shall have the same qualifications as the Muncipal Judge.  The Provisional Municipal Judge shall serve as Municipal Judge in the event the Municipal Judge is unable to perform such duties of office due to absence, illness or disqualification to hear certain matters.

Prosecuting Attorney

The Richmond Heights Municipal Code states that:

The Council shall appoint an officer who shall have the title of Municipal Prosecuting Attorney and who shall serve at the pleasure of the Council.  The person appointed to such position must have the following qualifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Missouri.
  • Not otherwise an officer or employee of the City of Richmond Heights.

The Municipal Prosecuting Attorney shall have such powers and duties as are conferred upon such officers by laws State of Missouri.

Court Clerks

The Richmond Heights Municipal Code states that:

The Court Clerks are responsible for the daily operations of the Municipal Court, including processing all city ordinance violations and traffic code violations, recording court dispositions, and collecting fines and court costs.  In addition, the Court Clerks report court dispositions to the Missouri State Highway Patrol and to the Missouri Department of Revenue as required by law.
