May 14, 2020 COVID -19 UPDATE
Dear Summer Camp Families:
You all have been in our hearts and our thoughts as we make decisions regarding our summer camp programs this year. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we adjust to our “new normal.”
At Imagination Station, the health and safety of campers, volunteers, and staff are and will always remain our number one priority. We are actively monitoring County Health Guidelines as we work to update all of our operational procedures and plans for summer camp. We also are following strict directives from the St. Louis County Executive and Health Director.
After much discussion we have come to the following decisions:
· Cancel Camp for the month of June 2020. We will continue to monitor camp for July.
· Cancel Young Explorers camp for the entire summer.
· Cancel Magical Mornings & Enchanted Afternoons for the entire summer.
· If held in July, Camp will move to our local parks. It will be an outdoor camp.
· Restrictions on camp size limits (possibly 5:1 camper/staff ratio).
· All Field Trips have been cancelled.
· The pool may likely be unavailable (still under evaluation).
· Aqua Camp is still under evaluation.
We are holding on to the possibility of camp to occur in July and August, pending more answers from the County with guidelines and requirements.
We know this is disappointing news for our campers and their families and trust you understand our highest priority when making this decision was the well-being of members of our community.
I will proceed to adjust your camp registrations to reflect June’s cancellation and this will reflect a new balance. If this new camp timeline or format does not work for your family’s needs we understand. Please contact me via email email@example.com for any cancellations and refunds.
Our staff team is hard at work developing new ways to engage with and provide exciting alternative programming for our campers and families. Please note that our intentions are to continue to make Imagination Station a feasible reality in July working under the guidelines and policies to provide a safe environment for children to play and interact.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me, Jeanette Days firstname.lastname@example.org. We are grateful for our Camp family and know we will get through this together. On behalf of all of us, we wish you good health during this time, and we look forward to seeing you all again with brighter, happier days ahead.
